Surprise on the Farm: Baby goats?!

Life on the farm is always full of surprises, and this week, we were met with one of the best kind—a litter of baby goats! We had no idea Misty was pregnant, but nature had its own plans, and now we have an adorable little addition to our herd.

It all started when an employee heard high-pitched crying coming from the goat house. Rushing in, we discovered Misty with her four newborn kids. Sadly, one had passed due to birth defects, and another was struggling. The smallest of the litter, weighing a full kilogram less than her siblings, had difficulty retaining heat, eating, and standing. We quickly brought her into the bathroom, wrapping her in blankets and holding her near the heaters. Once her shaking lessened, we milked Misty and bottle-fed the fragile little one. Within an hour, she gained her strength and was able to reunite with her mom and siblings in the goat house. With all the extra care and nourishment, the tiny underdog soon became the strongest of the group, mastering latching even before her big siblings!

We are happy to report that our grey buckling, black doeling, and oreo doeling are all healthy and doing well! *Visit our instagram stories to help us decide on names!*
