Update from the Farm
If you’ve been waiting for Easter tickets, you weren’t alone. This season has taken a little longer to come together than usual due to construction life, mom life, wife life, farm life, etc. We truly appreciate everyone who has been patient with us while we worked through it all.
The start of the year brought some unexpected challenges for our family, including a medical emergency evacuation out of a foreign country and surgery recovery. At the same time, things on the farm were moving more slowly than we had planned. Construction and permitting delays with King County, along with ongoing underground infrastructure work, made progress feel like a constant uphill climb. Then, as if on cue, a windstorm took down several trees, followed by a snowstorm that knocked out power across the farm.
Because of all of this, we had to make the difficult decision to cancel our Valentine’s and St. Patrick’s Day events this year. It wasn’t something we wanted to do, but it was necessary to give us the time and space to handle everything properly.
Now, finally, things are shifting. Spring is starting to show up in all the ways we love including the grass is growing again, the animals are happier, and the farm is slowly coming back to life. We’ve been working hard behind the scenes to clean up, repair, and get everything ready to welcome people back.
And with that… Easter is here.
7th Annual Easter Extravaganza
We’re so excited to open the farm again for our 7th Annual Easter Egg Hunt, which will be hosted on April 4th and 5th, 2026.
This year will feel a little different, but in a good way! We’re opening up a part of the farm that we don’t usually share with visitors. It’s a beautiful area with rolling grassy hills that gives the whole experience a more tucked-away, peaceful feeling. We’re also working on getting our hay wagon ready so families can enjoy a ride across the farm to their own egg hunt spaces.
It’s still the same Red Barn Farm experience at its core, just with a few new details to make it feel even more special. (And we’ll also have a new addition joining us this week… a new horse who will be settling in just in time for the event!)
