We are excited to announce we will be hosting FrightTown Eastside’s haunted house again this year!

FrightTown Eastside began in 2021 when 7-yr-old Sam Devine dreamed up an open air “Haunted Hogwarts” themed garage haunt to give families a covid-safe way to celebrate Halloween and to raise money to fight homelessness. It immediately drew tremendous support from across the eastside, welcoming over 1,000 visitors in its first year and raising over $8k for local nonprofit Giving Hope Project.

After a second successful home garage haunt in 2022, the haunt moved in 2023 to the historic Red Barn Farm, which housed the haunt completely free of charge. Over 200 volunteers, teen and adult, came together to scale the haunted house by an amazing 10x. Community sponsors covered the costs of wood, paint, costumes, and more to make this offering possible, and the haunt fully sold out all 6 nights it operated.

FrightTown’s mission is to build and strengthen community ties. We provide an opportunity for volunteers to work together to build something incredible that will bring others joy. The haunt itself offers a memorable, family friendly experience to the broader community, and prioritizes creating an accessible, inclusive experience available to all.

FrightTown Eastside currently operates as a Sponsored Program of local nonprofit Sammamish Friends, a 501c3 organization. It is headed by mother-son duo Jessica and Sam Devine, and continues to be fully volunteer-run, with all proceeds donated back into local non-profits.
