Temporary Closure for County Mandated Construction

With winter’s arrival, our farm is taking a quiet pause. We’ll be temporarily closed to the public as we focus on important improvements required by King County. While the process has not been without its challenges, we remain hopeful that this work will help preserve the farm’s legacy and ensure its story continues for generations to come.

This work focuses on the longevity, safety, and sustainability of the farm — ensuring that Red Barn continues to thrive as a beloved community gathering space for generations ahead.

While we’ll be closed for daily visits, we’re planning to reopen for special Christmas events and brief planned farm visits to share a bit of seasonal cheer. Aside from posted events, we’ll remain closed through the winter as construction continues, with plans to resume routine hours in late winter.

We’re so grateful for your patience and continued support as we invest in the future of this special place. Every improvement helps us protect the beauty, history, and heart of Red Barn Farm.

What will the farm be up to during the closure?

Flower Field Prep

During our closure, we will be busy preparing our flower fields for an exciting 2026 season, including wedding and event florals, u-pick experiences, tuber sales, subscriptions, and more! One of our biggest winter projects is digging and dividing all of our dahlia tubers. Stay tuned for more details about our upcoming tuber sale.

The Rescue at Red Barn Farm

During our downtime, the Board of Directors will be working on building the Bunny Barn as weather allows. We’ll also continue developing fundraisers, planning future programs, and building community connections to ensure we have the resources and support needed for a successful 2026 season!

What about Santa?

Don’t worry! Even with construction underway, we’re still going to host at least one holiday event with Santa Aaron this year! On October 22, we launched a poll on social media asking everyone to vote for their favorite Santa event. Stay tuned for the announcement of the winning event and all the details… coming soon!

Permit Processes…?

These permits and barn restoration requirements have become my full time job and they probably should have been a long time ago thought the county didn’t really make that a possibility! I’m working diligently to ensure the farm’s antiquated infrastructure can be brought up to the standards of the current times and survive another century (as many of you have seen on our instagram stories!)

Thanks for supporting our farm and we look forward to sharing our construction and winter progress with you all on our social media!
