Are you growing Sweet Peas this year?

Sweet Peas are one of the earliest flowers we plant at the farm and one of the most fragrant.

Walking through the rows can be intoxicating! We are working on building up our stock and improving our seed collection process so we can offer them next year 🤩

When I started scaling up from gardening to farming one of the most difficult things was labeling rows and varieties.

It takes discipline and practice but label things twice at least and have a plan on paper or digital. Even in your garden beds you will not remember everything you planted and what variety it was at least not three years later. When you get into gardening or farming every year you make little changes to improve your process. Proper labeling took me a few years to learn and it simple for me in the garden but when it comes to the farm it’s still a labor of love.

Labeling is important so you can find out what grows best and also if you want to save your seed. More importantly it is imperative by year three for proper crop rotation.
